"External Insulation finishes available in Ireland"

Regardless of the type of insulation fitted to a home what people always notice is the final finish.  We are pleased to offer the widest range of NSAI approved finishes for ETICS systems available on the Irish market today.
We offer Acrylic, Wet Dash, Dry Dash and Monocouche renders all of which are NSAI approved along with Brick finishes which are not as yet approved and so do not qualify for HES grants as yet.

But all of these finishes will give your home a beautiful appearance for many years to come.

Acrylic Renders for External Insulation

Acrylic Finish for External Insulation, ETICS RenderAcrylic Renders are the result of including a polymer additive to the traditional cement, lime and sand mix for enhanced water resistance, flexibility and adhesion. These heavy duty, elastometric structural decorative finishes are the most durable, weatherproof wall coatings in use today.  They are available in fine sand and coarse aggregate mixes and you can choose from a wide variety of colours and textures.

Wet Dash finish for External Insulation

Wet Dash Finish for External Insulation, ETICS Render, Powerwall EWIS, Rough Dash, HarlWet Dash is a traditional type of harl in which the aggregate of small evenly sized pebbles is incorporated into the mix. Traditionally Wet Dash is used in exposed areas to breakup driving rain. With the advent of waterproof renders this feature is no longer required, but many people still enjoy this traditional finish.

Our Wet Dash (Rough Dash) is a Pre-mixed blend of fillers, synthetic resins, co-polymers, cement and fibres. Naturally our Wet Dash is available in a wide range of colours.

This mixture gives a tough, flexible, waterproof and crack resistant finish.

Dry Dash finish for External Insulation

Dry Dash Finish for External Insulation, ETICS Render, Powerwall EWIS, Pebble Dash Dry Dash (Pebble Dash) is a rough textured finish in which small dry pebbles or aggregates are thrown onto a freshly applied coat of mortar (often called a butter coat) and left exposed.

Our Dry Dash is a Special pre-mixed blend of aggregates, lightweight fillers, co-polymers, fibres and cement. Which has tremendous tensile and compressive strength.

We have a wide range of aggregates available and so can match most existing facades.

Monocouche finish for External Insulation

Monocouche Finish for External Insulation, ETICS Render, Powerwall EWISThe term Monocouche is used to distinguish modern renders and their application methods from those of traditional renders and their application methods.

The formulation of a monocouche render is distinguished by the use of White Ordinary Portland Cement as a binder which then enables the formulation to be pigmented. The addition of pigments will give a manufacturer the opportunity to produce a colour range and employ the term through colour render as when the product is applied and finished the pigment will bind in place, all the way through the body of the render.

In this way there is no need to paint these finishes for a generation.

Brick finish for External Insulation

Brick facade Finish for External Insulation, ETICS Render, Powerwall EWISFor homeowners who would like a brick finish we offer the “Isoklinker” system from Germany.   “Isoklinker” bricks are a natural composite of thermal-insulation polyurethane and high-quality, hard-baked brick facing tiles made of clay.

Without requiring any preliminary work, Isoklinker elements are secured directly to the outside wall using special wall plugs.

Isoklinker have a wide range of brick available, by using this factory built system the implementation of the system on site is very fast and simple.

Notes about Renders

Note A render is a mortar consisting of cement and fine aggregate to provides a durable weather resistant finish that will enhance the surface of a building. In North America it is normally called stucco.

Rendering is a traditional craft that has evolved over many centuries. Originally wattle and daub was used to fill gaps in walls constructed from wood or stone, to minimise the ingress of wind and rain. A drawback of these early mortars was their inability to prevent the ingress of water, which was partially compensated for by having roof overhangs and adequate drainage at the base of the wall.

People are often confused about the two terms “rendering” and “plastering”. Basically rendering is for external walls and plastering is for internal surfaces.
