How SEAI and NSAI approve External Wall Insulation systems and installers for Grants
Insulating your home is a once in a lifetime job. It should be done once and done properly. Which is why it is important to pick a contractor who has been fully tested and approved by all the Irish authorities.
SEAI Approval for External Wall Insulation
When SEAI started the HES scheme in February 2009 Wall Insulation were immediately registered. The criteria to be an approved installer involved Tax, Insurance and training records and using a EWIS system that had an ETAG:004 certification. ETAG:004 is the Guideline for European Technical Approval of External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems with Rendering. These criteria are all still in place, but they have been augmented by NSAI.
NSAI Approval for External Wall Insulation
In July 2009 NSAI and SEI came to an agreement to jointly assess applications by installers and that NSAI would approve the systems. NSAI believe that Irish climatic conditions are substantially different from other European conditions to warrant specific Irish validation. (These differences are in the area of driving rain and multiple dew points). This is why NSAI insist on approving EWIS systems for Ireland.
Besides certifying the systems, NSAI also certify that contractors like us, are following the correct procedures in applying the system, and dealing with clients.
Our NSAI and SEAI status
- Because we are approved to work with two different suppliers we can offer our customers a wide choice of insulation and finishes.
-
We are an installer of both PowerWall and Atlas Aval thermal cladding solutions in Ireland, approved by NSAI (IAB/E023).
-
We are registered with SEAI as Contractor number 11976.
What this means to you is that once a project is complete we are authorised to sign-off on HES claims and you can get your 4000 euro grant from SEAI..
We decided to partner with both PowerWall and Atlas so our clients can have access to the widest range of finishes and insulants certified for use in Ireland today.
